DESIGN REVEAL: Designing a New Home for Highland Crest Baptist Church
Thrive Architects is excited to partner with Smet Construction & Highland Crest Baptist Church as they plan to relocate their current facility on Military Avenue to a new facility on a larger campus just up the road at Military Ave & Langlade Ave.
The proposed church is thoughtfully designed to support ministry, fellowship, and community life.
Inside, the new space will feature:
• Education spaces for children, youth & adults
• Church office area
• Multiple fellowship areas
• A full gymnasium for youth & adult programs
• A sanctuary with seating for 500 people
Beyond the walls, the site plan prioritizes accessibility and connection:
• Outdoor greenspace for activities
• A fenced-in playground for children’s ministry
• Bicycle parking and walkable access to neighborhood businesses
Every detail has been planned to create a space that reflects the church’s mission of gathering, growing, and serving.
We’re honored to help bring Highland Crest’s vision to life through these renderings and can’t wait to continue the design!

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: Spellman Trailers, Inc. – Franklin, WI
Every project starts with an idea — and for Spellman Trailers, Inc., those ideas began as sketches developed in collaboration with PSG. Thrive Architects was brought in to transform that vision into a fully realized, functional workspace that supports the company’s continued growth.
A trusted name in commercial trailer sales and servicing since 1968, Spellman Trailers needed to expand and modernize their facility. The project includes a 1,472-square-foot office addition and a renovation of the existing space, designed to improve workflow and comfort.
The result integrates natural stone from the exterior into the interior, introduces a renovated open office area and new private offices, and features a conference room with expansive glass panels that flood the space with natural light. The design balances practicality and warmth, aligning with Spellman’s forward-looking approach.

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: From Nursing Home to Neighborhood Gem
In 2024, River Park Apartments officially opened its doors in Glendale, Wisconsin. JM Remodeling partnered with Thrive Architects to transform this former nursing home into an 82,000+ square foot multifamily community offering one-, two-, and three-bedroom units.
Our design team reimagined the structure inside and out—creating a modern living experience while maintaining the original window placement. The site’s connection to the Milwaukee River and Oak Leaf Trail inspired an experiential approach, emphasizing connection to nature and community.
Residents now enjoy thoughtfully designed amenities including a spacious lobby with an expansive fireplace, community room, fitness center, laundry facility, pet wash, and newly configured detached garages.

Cheers to 5 Years, Angie!
We’re excited to celebrate Angie Streckenbach, who has officially reached her 5-year milestone at Thrive!
As a licensed architect with nearly two decades of experience, Angie brings not only expertise but also leadership—backed by her M.B.A. Certificate in Leadership. She launched Thrive’s presence in our Appleton office and continues to grow the business while building lasting industry connections.
From Highland Crest Baptist Church and Fetch Play & Sip (an indoor dog park with a twist!) to Wolf River CBRF, SouthEast Eye Clinic, and a variety multifamily developments — Angie has proven her ability to design across many sectors.
When asked what she’s most proud of at Thrive, Angie shared: “I enjoy the challenge of working within existing parameters—so a redevelopment opportunity like creating apartments in a former nursing home at Riverpark Apartments was a fun one for me while at Thrive.”
Outside the office, you’ll find Angie on the golf course, reading by the campfire, or experimenting with her sourdough starter (yes, it’s been going strong for years!). Her day starts with hot black coffee and often winds down with a chai latte.
We’re grateful for Angie’s talent, leadership, and energy—and can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds!

Grand Opening: Phase I of Stor-It Right!
Thrive Architects is proud to partner with Stor-It Right and Wellspring Construction to bring a new generation of storage design to Oconomowoc.
Phase I is now complete — and this isn’t your ordinary storage facility.
Together, we designed a site that raises the bar with:
• Durable steel building systems built to last
• Climate-controlled units with precise temperature & humidity control
• In-unit power & LED lighting in select units
• Motion-sensor lighting and secure 24/7 access
• Bold exterior finishes — crisp polar white with charcoal gray trim
• A private office featuring a full glass storefront
Every detail was thoughtfully designed to maximize functionality and security — from energy-efficiency to accessibility.
And we’re not done yet! Phase II is already on the horizon with four additional buildings.
Thrive Architects is proud to help Stor-It Right set a new standard for self-storage in Wisconsin.

Cheers to 1 Year with Thrive, Jonathan!
We’re excited to celebrate Jonathan Tews on his first anniversary with Thrive! Based in our Madison office, Jon brings incredible energy, collaboration, and design expertise to every project. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies and a Master of Architecture degree from UW Milwaukee and has been a valuable part of our team ever since.
Some of Jon’s proudest projects include Southern Lakes Church, Wauwatosa Self Storage, and the Vertical Investments Residence (Simic House). His first year at Thrive, Jonathan has enjoyed company outings, the holiday party, our 10-year alley celebration, as well as site walkthroughs and design collaboration across the office.
Outside of work, Jon is just as active—golfing with friends and family, playing softball through the summer and fall, and snowboarding during the winter months. His go-to snack is a classic combo of a candy bar and soda, and here’s a fun fact: Jon studied martial arts for eight years and earned a 2nd degree black belt!
We’re grateful for everything Jon contributes to Thrive, and we can’t wait to see all that he’ll accomplish in the years ahead.
